A quick one

I did promise I would try to make my posts shorter so here goes.

Today has been another day at home, nothing new now that I am nearly retired. Very cold outside so stayed in. Lots of bird activity so tried to get some decent pics. Failed!

We have at least three Greater Spotted Woodpeckers who visit every day but taking pictures of them is very difficult. As soon as you move or open the window they are gone so today I resorted to shooting through the kitchen window. The results are patchy. The kitchen window has many small panes with old glass in them which is notorious for not being flat. Nevertheless, I tried and got this shot of a woody sat on the edge of a birdbath having just had a drink.

As I said its not a great picture but the best I could do at short notice.

We are trying to encourage more wildlife into the garden so we leave the dandelions to flower and seed and this morning it paid off. There was a male Bullfinch sat eating the seeds off the dandelion heads. Another very shy bird so it was lovely to see it so close to the house.

More wildlife news will follow and I am very happy to hear any sugestions. Stay safe and see you soon.
